Any other new character going through the Collector Ship is going to get to make the choice the same as the first time. On Veteran difficulty and with all sniper upgrades, you can one-shot-one-kill (by headshot) the Shielded/Barrier'd Collector Guardians/Assassins and almost 2-shot Harbringer.
